GIGEIIN Takes Part in Research Session at Osaka Expo, EU Pavilion.
On Sunday, 4 May 2025, at the invitation of Delegation of the European Union to Japan, four researchers at University of Toyama, Professor Kazumi Uchida, Lecturer Hitomi Shintani, Assistant Professor Takuya Mikami from GIGEIIN (Research Center for Cultural Property Conservation and New Creative Technologies) and Associate Professor Tenshin Yokoyama from School of Art and Design, at the European Union Pavilion at Osaka Expo. They were joined by Professor Piero Baglioni and his research group from the University of Florence, Italy.
This session aims to bridge the efforts of GIGEIINand the EU cultural heritage conservation project GREENART(External Websites), led by Professor Baglioni. The focus of Professor Baglioni’s work on connecting colloid and surface science to cultural heritage conservation is also applicable to the University of Toyama’s work on the conservation of intangible cultural heritage, and future joint research with a view to connecting the GIGEIIN’s digital museum and digital fabrication activities to cultural heritage conservation activities was also discussed. The discussions were meaningful.
