Agreement Signed with Jacksonville State University – Ms. Ingrid Galinat Visits University of Toyama

On October 14, 2025, the University of Toyama welcomed Ms. Ingrid Galinat, Director of International Programs at Jacksonville State University (JSU), Alabama, USA, for a courtesy visit. In conjunction with this visit, an academic exchange agreement (MOU) was signed between the two universities.

During her visit, Ms. Galinat toured the Faculty of Art and Design, visited the International House, and observed activities such as the English Chat program and the CITIER seminar, gaining insight into the University of Toyama’s international initiatives. In the afternoon, she paid a courtesy call on the President and participated in the signing ceremony. This was followed by a meeting with international supporters and discussions with various faculties. The visit concluded with a tour of the Hearn Bunko collection.

During the courtesy visit, President Saito emphasized the importance of international exchange, stating that “Education has the power to connect people and transform lives.” He also introduced the annual summer school program “TOMIDAI GLOBAL SCI FRONTIERS” and expressed his hope that JSU students will participate in the future.

The agreement signed on this occasion pertains to a student exchange program scheduled to begin in the summer term of 2026. This partnership is expected to provide new opportunities for learning and cultural exchange for students of both universities.
