Dr. Marioara of SINTEF (Norway), Associate Professor Pham of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam), and Associate Professor Banjongprasert of Chiang Mai University (Thailand) Paid a Courtesy Visit to President Saito

Dr. Calin D. Marioara, visiting under a cross-appointment system between the Aluminum Research Center (ARC) at the University of Toyama and the Foundation for Industrial and Technical Research (SINTEF) in Norway, Associate Professor Pham Mai Khanh, Director of the Materials Testing Research Center at Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam, and Associate Professor Chaiyasit Banjongprasert from the Materials Science Research Center at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, who came to Japan for joint collaborative research program with the Institute of Light Metals (ILM), paid a courtesy visit to President Saito on March 5, 2026.

Their purpose of visit is to advance research on alloy development that contributes to the neutralization of impurity elements in aluminum alloys with ARC. Dr. Marioara will stay for one month, while the other two will stay for one week.

During this time, they will discuss current research results, promote mutual collaborative research, and conduct specific research activities.
