?研究留学生（大使館推薦） Research Students (Embassy Recommendation)
毎年4月頃に日本国大使館及び総領事館（以下「在外公館」）にて、翌年度4月または10月に渡日する留学生の募集があり、5～7月頃に第一次選考（書類審査、筆記試験、面接）が現地で行われます。一次選考合格者のみ、所定の期限(日本時間))までに希望する大学と直接連絡を取り、「受入内諾書」を申請できます。「受入内諾書」が取得できた者は現地の在外公館から外務省を通じ文部科学省に推薦されます。文部科学省は、推薦された候補者について第二次選考を行い、採用者を決定します。
なお、正規生として入学するには、各研究科?学環で実施する入学試験を別途受験し合格する必要があります。
Around April each year, Japanese embassies and consulates begin recruiting international students who wish to study in Japan starting the following April or October. The first screening—consisting of document review, written exams, and interviews—is conducted locally between May and July.
Only those who pass the first screening may contact their desired university directly by the designated deadline (Japan time) to request a “Letter of Provisional Acceptance.” Applicants who obtain this letter will be recommended by the diplomatic mission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which then forwards the recommendation to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
MEXT conducts a second screening of the recommended candidates and makes the final selection.
Please note that to enroll as a regular student, applicants must also pass the entrance examination conducted separately by each graduate school or academic program.
